CARLOS AMARELINHO

         This is the name of one of the ships on the expedition that took part in the discovery of the sea route to India, led by Vasco da Gama. This musical fantasy describes some of the stages that marked this voyage that this great navigator immortalized. It portrays six themes: the departure ; the entry into the high seas ; the despair (marked by the long voyage, along with longing, illness and lack of strength to continue it); the battle (when they were boarded by pirate ships); the return of the trip , and finally, after capturing some pirates, they would indicate the best coordinates for their arrival in India .
